*** DIPPING OFFICIAL CLASSIFICATION *** - TYPE I DIPPING : shaking movement. Suitable for shoes easy to take off (hose, low cut mules...). Can be used bare feet to extend the dipping time with a kind of dangling impression. This method is also used for the walking dipping to let the shoes behind you when you want to take your shoes off before walking bare feet on a rug for example. TYPE II DIPPING : assistance by the other foot/leg/ankle. Suitable for shoes more difficult to take off and/or worn with bare feet (more sticky than feet with hose). TYPE III DIPPING : assistance by the ground ; phase #1 : heel pop, phase #2 : heel against the ground to take the shoe off. For mules and sabots, just the phase #2 is used. More appropriate with bare feet. Sometimes I've saw women using the type III to begin and finishing with the type I to remove one shoe (in this particular case, the feet were bare and the shoes tight or new).
